Pacific Power Systems LLC Warranty Statement

Pacific Power Systems LLC (PPS) provides a warranty for all products sold. In no event shall PPS be liable for consequential damages for breach of this warranty.

Refurbished UPS Equipment:

Refurbished UPS Equipment includes UPS chassis, power modules, maintenance bypass cabinets & switches, auxiliary cabinets, battery cabinets & power distribution units (Covered Products – UPS).

  • PPS warrants that the Covered Products – UPS will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of PPS’ invoice to customer. This is a PARTS ONLY warranty - No onsite warranty work.
  • Within the period of this warranty, PPS will repair or replace, free of charge, any part proving defective in material or workmanship. All repairs must be performed by PPS or its partners and affiliates.
  • All expenses relating to repairing or replacing defective parts under this warranty shall be assumed by PPS except:
    • Freight costs incurred more than ninety (90) days after the date of the original invoice for sale.
    • Expedited freight costs. PPS provides standard ground freight for all Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA). Expedited freight is the responsibility of the customer.
  • Older and specialty UPS equipment may carry various warranties which will be identified to the customer at the time of quote and/or purchase.
  • SNMP/Communication hardware and software are specifically EXCLUDED from this warranty.
  • Equipment must be installed and started by qualified technicians or licensed electrical contractors with experience installing uninterruptible power supplies in order for the warranty to be valid. Any installation by non-qualified technicians or contractors voids the warranty.
  • Customers must contact PPS with serial numbers to authorize the RMA. The RMA form must accompany the item being returned.
  • RMAs cannot be processed without the serial number and description of the defective item.
  • Warranty claims will not be processed on past due accounts.
  • This limited warranty does not warrant against cosmetic imperfections or damage due to (1) acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or modifications of this product; (2) improper operation or maintenance of this product; (3) connection to improper voltage supply; or (4) attempted repair by unqualified party.
  • All NON-DEFECTIVE returns or incorrectly ordered Covered Products - UPS requesting credit are subject to RMA approval at the sole discretion of PPS and are subject to a 25% percent restocking fee of total invoiced amount.
  • Items determined to be DEFECTIVE must be returned directly to Somerset Power Systems within 30 days from RMA issuance date, for replacement or credit. Unreturned merchandize will result in billing the replacement item at the original cost of the item.

Batteries:

  • Batteries carry various manufacturers’ warranties processed through PPS or its partners. Unless otherwise stated, batteries carry a one (1) year limited replacement-only warranty for brand new batteries from the date of invoice to customer. Some batteries may have longer warranties. Please inquire at time of ordering about the specific warranty for the batteries the customer is purchasing.
  • Battery warranties do not cover freight or labor cost.
  • Other terms and conditions (imposed by the battery manufacturers) may apply. This information will be furnished to the customer upon request.

Circuit Boards and Other Electronic Parts:

Circuit boards, rectifiers, inverters, switches and other electronic parts (Covered Products – Other) are subject to their own warranty.

  • PPS warrants that the Covered Products – Other will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of PPS’ invoice to customer. This is a PARTS ONLY warranty - No onsite warranty work.
  • Within the period of this warranty, PPS will repair or replace, free of charge, any part proving defective in material or workmanship. All repairs must be performed by PPS or its partners and affiliates.
  • All expenses relating to repairing or replacing defective parts under this warranty shall be assumed by PPS except:
    • Freight costs incurred more than ninety (90) days after the date of the original invoice for sale.
    • Expedited freight costs. PPS provides standard ground freight for all Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA). Expedited freight is the responsibility of the customer.
  • If PPS sent the wrong part it will be replaced immediately at no charge to the customer.
  • If customer ordered the wrong part the following applies:
    • Unopened boxes can be returned at customer’s expense for a 25% re-stocking fee plus the original shipping cost.
    • Open boxes may be returned, only if the Covered Products – Other are in their undisturbed static bag, for 25% re-stocking fee. Covered Products - Other may not be returned if the static bag(s) is opened.
  • All Covered Products - Other must be installed by an authorized UPS technician. Failing to have it installed by an authorized UPS technician will void this warranty. If you have a question about a technician’s credentials, seek authorization in advance.
  • Covered Products - Other must be returned, or on-site disposal approved by PPS, within thirty (30) days from the date of invoice. If the defective part(s) is not returned, the normal cost of the part will be billed. If a part is received by the customer not working, PPS will be responsible for the replacement and the shipping cost.

Freight/Shipping for Warranty Claims Only:

  • Prior to start up PPS will cover all freight costs.
  • PPS will cover freight costs for the first ninety (90) days after the original invoice date, regardless of the start-up date.
  • After ninety (90) days, customer is responsible for all freight costs.
  • PPS will provide standard ground freight for all RMAs. Expedited freight cost will be billed to the customer.

NOTICE: If customer receives damaged merchandise, it is best to REFUSE it back to the carrier attempting deliver. If customer accepts the package make sure it is noted on the carrier's delivery form in order for PPS to file a damage claim. Save the merchandise AND the original box and packing it arrived in, take pictures of the damage to both the packaging and the merchandise, and notify PPS immediately to arrange for a carrier inspection and a pick up of damaged merchandise. If you do not notify PPS of damaged goods within the first fifteen (15) days of arrival, PPS’ regular warranty policy will override any claim of damage.
